Oil Filters

At Motorcycle Medic, we understand that a reliable oil filter is one of the most overlooked yet essential components of your vehicle’s performance. Whether you’re riding a street bike, racing off-road, or maintaining a utility ATV or UTV, clean oil is what keeps your engine alive—and the oil filter is what keeps that oil clean. With over 50 years of experience in motorcycle and ATV repair, we’ve seen firsthand the difference a quality oil filter can make in extending engine life and preventing costly damage.

That’s why we stock and recommend oil filters that meet or exceed OEM specifications.

These filters are designed to trap dirt, metal particles, and sludge without restricting oil flow. Whether you're doing a routine oil change or having us handle it for you, the filter you choose matters. And at Motorcycle Medic, we make sure the right one is within reach.

Filters We Carry

We keep oil filters in stock year-round for the most common models of motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. Our inventory includes spin-on and cartridge-style filters from trusted brands known for consistent quality and proven filtration. We hand-select every product we carry to ensure it’s compatible with the engines we service most—Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Can-Am, and others.

Our filters are chosen for their ability to:

Capture fine contaminants without restricting oil pressure

Maintain structural integrity under extreme temperature swings

Work seamlessly with both synthetic and conventional oils

We understand that many riders want to handle oil changes on their own. That’s why when you come in to buy a filter, we’re happy to confirm fitment, explain the difference between filter types, and even advise on how to avoid cross-threading or over-tightening—two common mistakes that lead to leaks or worse. If we’re doing the work for you, we’ll walk you through what filter we’re installing and why it’s the right match for your vehicle.

Why Oil Filters Matter

Oil filters aren’t just optional—they’re your engine’s frontline defense. As your oil circulates, it naturally collects combustion byproducts, metal shavings from engine wear, and tiny bits of dust or dirt. If left unfiltered, these contaminants can lead to abrasion on cylinder walls, reduced oil effectiveness, and premature engine wear. An old or cheap filter can clog, bypass filtration entirely, or collapse under pressure, allowing these contaminants to flow freely through the motor.

Over time, even the best engine oil breaks down and loses its ability to suspend debris effectively. This is why a fresh, high-quality oil filter is necessary with every oil change. We always recommend replacing both together to ensure full protection between service intervals.

Personalized Support for Every Rider

If you don’t have the exact filter number, simply bring your make and model—or even a photo—and we’ll point you to the correct fit. For bikes or ATVs with aftermarket modifications that affect engine output or oil flow, we take those changes into account when recommending a filter. Backed by decades of hands-on experience, our team has worked with every type of rider—from weekend cruisers to competitive racers.

We also provide recommendations on how often to change your oil filter depending on how and where you ride.

Two oil filters are sitting on top of a yellow box.

For example, a dual-sport rider tackling dusty trails might need filter changes more frequently than someone commuting on clean pavement. In the mountains and seasonal extremes of North Carolina, those factors can vary wildly, so we take time to give advice based on local conditions and usage patterns.

I broke my shifter bolt off while riding on the BDR. What they didn't have was an oem replacement bolt for my ktm 500, But what they did have was the skillset and tools required to extract a broken bolt and a replacement bolt that would work. They rolled another bike off a lift and prioritized my bike to get me back on the trail. They saved my weekend!

Pat, George, and Zack always do excellent work for me, and with a fast turn around time! I took my 2008 CBR600RR to get a full tune up plus some mods, and had it back the same week! If it's a motorcycle, dirtbike, 4wheeler, or side-by-side, trust these guys!

These guys were amazing. I would highly recommend this shop. We needed a rear tire replaced since ours died a horrible death after many curvy runs. They not only changed the rear tire on my husband's Honda vtx1800 motorcycle but initially helped us take it off the trailer (with a severely flat tire) but rescued us from certain disaster when my husband went down trying to get it back on the trailer. They didn't have to do the repair as this shop is busy but they fit us in. Thank you to the gentlemen at motorcycle medic for your fantastic service.

Awesome repair shop! Staffed with very qualified mechanics that get repairs done as quickly as possible. It's also run and owed by an incredibly knowledgeable mechanic that's honest as they come. Reminds me of the good old days. There's no upsell or runaround just quality work done for reasonable price. First time customer and now customer for life!
